A superb example of an antique ring in excellent condition. Hallmarked in 1868 and crafted in 15ctgold, I cannot emphasise just how good the condition of this ring is. We see plenty of of rings similar to this but they are inevitably repaired using lead solder and the engraving around the base of the finger is usually totally worn out. This ring exhibits none of these and looks like it would have done 150 years ago near enough.
Metal: 15ct gold.
Marks: 15ct Birmingham 1868.
Measurements: 9mm at it widest. The main aspect of the ring spreads 17mm across the finger. 3mm at the back of the finger.
Stones: Pearls, garnet and paste. The centre stone is most likely white paste but thanks to its age, the cement used has discoloured and appears green. We would rather air on the side of caution but getting the stone out and fully testing it would be damaging to the ring and possibly the stone.
Weight: 2.2 grams.
Condition: Excellent.
Finger size: UK Q - US & Canada 8.
