After the Second World War, Claude Zelley moved from Bishop’s Stortford to Norwich and began a jewellery wholesale company. East Anglian Jewellery Wholesale Ltd. ran for many many years and supplied the majority of jewellers in the region. This included everything from clocks to watches, silver, giftware, and, of course, items of precious jewellery.
These vintage pendants are part of that old stock, and although they are brand new, they are vintage, ranging in dates from the 1960s in some cases to the early 1990s, when the wholesale business started to dwindle. They have sat in drawers at the back of our vault for years, pretty much forgotten about. As a business, we focus heavily on antique, vintage, and fine pre-owned jewellery. We will not be stocking items like this again, so when these old ones are gone, they are gone.
The chaining up chain we offer on our website is new stock. Although we prefer pre-owned, we are unable to offer a standardised range of pre-owned chain taking into account gauge, from light to heavy, and the various lengths, from 16 inches to 24 inches. We have kept it simple, offering only one style of chain: a filed diamond-cut link. This style of link works brilliantly, allowing all the various pendants to run smoothly across the metal while being very strong.
