This pair of cufflinks most likely did not start life together. We believe it might be a collaboration between a couple of pairs as there are mixed metals present. Parts of the cufflinks are testing at 18ct and another testing as 14ct while the chain is testing as 9ct. Regardless of its origins there is good age to these. Old cut diamonds with enamel showing many many decades of use. This aspect of the cufflinks I would estimate as Victorian or earlier. This character is not something we would ‘repair’ by re-enamelling. The Mother Of Pearl button is most likely early 20th century.
Metal: Mixed metals being 9ct, 14ct & 18ct.
Marks: No marks.
Stones: An old cut diamond in each of the enamelled part of the cufflinks, each approximately 0.10ct. Total diamonds weight approximately 0.20ct. The opposite side of the cufflink is a concave piece of Mother or Pearl with gold wire giving the impression of a cotton tread.
Measurements: Enamel part: 11mm diameter. Mother of Pearl part: 9.5mm in diameter. Length of chain is approximately 18mm.
Weight: 6 grams overall.
Condition: Excellent condition. These are antique cufflinks that have seen decades of use. The enamelling is worn here and there but I would still class the condition as excellent calling the visible usage… character .
