The carved half hoop ring was incredibly popular in the later Victorian era. Hand chased scroll work and decorative shoulders are typical of this style of ring. The three diamonds are cleverly set and interspaced with small rose cut chips giving the effect of an unbroken table of diamond.

Crafted in 18ct gold this ring has seen little wear since it was made in 1897. These rings can usually show their age through wear to the engraving and decorative detailing, this ring shows very little, if any of the sort of wear that is so common.

Metal: 18ct yellow gold.

Marks: 18 Birmingham 1897.

Measurements: 5.4mm wide at the head spreading 16mm across the ringer, rising 3.8mm.

Stones: Three principle diamonds approximately 0.35ct - 0.45ct - 0.25ct. Colour I/J, clarity SI2. There are an additional six ‘chips’ each approximately 0.005ct (half a point). Total overall diamond weight approximately 1.08ct.

Weight: 3.50 grams.

Condition: Excellent.
