A superb example of an early Georgian diamond cluster ring. The engraving on this ring is magnificent. A typically Georgian format being 18ct yellow gold with the diamonds housed in silver settings. The rose cut diamonds are all totally unique from one another with the central pear shape accounting for an estimated 0.65ct of the overall diamond content. I wish we knew the history of this ring and it’s previous owners. The detailing to the gold is magnificent and in exceptional condition - a really rare find.
Metal: 18ct gold and silver.
Marks: Unmarked - tests fully indicate 18ct gold.
Stones: Rose cut diamonds. Central pear shaped rose cut diamonds approximately 0.65ct. Further surround of ten rose cuts totalling approximately 0.80ct. Total diamond weight approximately 1.48ct.
Measurements: The main aspect of the cluster measures 20mm x 16.5mm. The decorative solders spread 14mm wide and narrow to 3.6mm at the back of the finger.
Weight: 6.28 grams.
Condition: Excellent.
Finger size: Difficult to say as the back of the setting does not allow for a true reading on the ring stick. Approximate finger size UK L - US 6.
