Platinum Pink Sapphire & Diamond Ring

I first put these stones together in 2017. The sapphire was purchased loose from our favourite specialist gemstone dealer with the intention of making a ring for stock. I had managed to acquire a matched pair of old cut diamonds which looked great with the sapphire and the proportions seemed to work. There they sat until recently a friend in the trade asked us if we wanted to try out his new workshop he was working with. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally get the ring made. This is therefore a brand new ring making use of reclaimed old cut diamonds and featuring a wonderful pink sapphire as the centre-piece, selected by ourselves, specifically for the intention of making something a bit different. Working towards a more antique design style rather than a contemporary ring, the mount incudes diamond set shoulders and the settings feature heart shaped scroll work. Split claws securing the stones give great security and allow daily use if selected as an engagement ring.

Measurements:

Stones: The principle stone is a rectangular cushion mixed cut pink sapphire exhibiting reddish pink colour. Certification of the gemmological institute of Colombo, Sri Lanka, before being exported by our gemstone dealer. Exact weight of 1.08ct with a colour grade of ‘hot pink’ the certificate states in the ‘remarks’ no indication of thermal enhancement detected. Flanking the pink sapphire are two old cushion cut diamonds each weighing 0.04ct. Colour G/H and one diamond with Si1 and the other VS2. Each shoulder contains three swiss cut diamonds each approximate 0.005ct. Total diamond weight 0.91ct.
