Crafted in 9ct yellow gold. This particular claw is holding a dark hard stone sphere. Likely dating to the mid 1970s when these were highly popular, this has been repurposed from a charm into a
pendant.
Please note that although the images show a chain, this is solely for photography purposes. This item is not sold with a chain. Necklaces are sold separately.
Metal: 9ct yellow gold.
Marks: Unmarked. The hallmark was possibly originally struck on the ring at the top which has been worn right down. We have replaced this ring and added a larger jump ring allowing this to be worn on a chain. Should you require a larger jump ring to accommodate a thicker gauge of chain, please do let us know.
Measurements: Just shy of 30mm from the very top of the jump ring to the very bottom of the claw. 15mm wide.
Stones: Honestly, we really cannot say for certain. Our best guess is possibly Obsidian which is a black natural glass. It is a bit too grey for obsidian really and has lacks the lustre normally associated with obsidian but that could well be due to wear from rotating in the claws.
Weight: 7.35 grams.
Condition: The gold is in excellent condition. The only wear as such is the lustre of the stone being lost most likely due to movement within the claw cage.
