Description: A 1793 guinea coin showcasing the fifth laureate head of King George III facing right. The reverse side features the shield design, giving the coin the nickname ‘spade guinea’. Metal: The guinea is 22ct gold. 9ct yellow gold scroll top. Marks: Unmarked. Measurements: Diameter of 24.3mm. With the scroll and jump ring, it measures 34mm. Weight: 8.82 grams. Condition: Very good. The scroll top is crafted in 9ct and is attached to the coin which does devalue it from a collectors point of view. We have however obviously priced this accordingly.

This ring is a smaller size coming in at I 1/2 but there is good scope to size up 5-6 fingers sizes. Metal: 18ct yellow gold. Marks: C. LJ. London 1993. Measurements: 14.8mm X 12mm rising 7.5mm. The shank measures 2mm wide. Stones: Emerald-cut emerald of good colour, approximately 0.74ct. Ten brilliant-cut diamonds approximately 0.08ct each, colour F-H, clarity VS. Weight: 5.01 grams. Condition: Excellent. Finger size: UK I 1/2 - US & Canada 4 1/2.

Profit from scrap gold. Pretty much every traditional jewellery shop will buy scrap gold. There really is not as much profit in it as many people might think. Granted, in the time it took me to put this video together the price of gold has gone up £1.40 a gram on 22ct but as quickly as that goes up, it can and will inevitably come down. Sit on it long enough and those margins will no doubt increase. Scale it up and it can be very profitable but it is essentially gambling. I once spent £14,000 on a 22ct gold parcel. In the 24 hours it took me to get it to my refiners, the price dipped and I made a loss of £90. You win some, you lose some.

Very happy with how these are coming up. We have dubbed these ‘antiques enhanced’ and other items include diamond set padlocks. Worth a quick browse of the website. If you follow modern high-street fashion jewellery you will no doubt be aware of a brand selling gold-plated T-bar necklaces between £295-£350. Why not have the real deal for just a little bit more. This is online now for £405. Solid gold and antique meaning it ticks the sustainable and ethical boxes but at the end of the day, the best thing about this is that nobody else will ever have one the same. We have more on the way similar but nothing will ever be identical.

We love a T-bar pendant. These two T-bars are set with recycled diamonds. I cannot remember when we last purchased a brand new diamond from a diamond dealer. Most of what we make use of is purchased over the counter, such as the diamonds used in these pendants. Set in-house, we do have some more lined up and I have even got a lovely matching pair of stunning blue sapphires to make use of. Prices start from £265 which will get you an antique 9ct gold T bar set with 0.05ct of diamond. Small print; please note that the chain is additional. Finally getting around to uploading some newly acquired pieces. Lovely little bundle of pre-owned vintage diamond items which can now all be seen on our website in greater detail. Three stones were a pretty big seller in the run up to Christmas last year so nice to have something a bit more substantial back in the window again. Art Deco is always popular so the single stone with diamond set shoulders is a nice addition. It isn’t old by antique standards but that does mean it is more appropriate as a daily engagement ring where true antique art deco rings might not be. The horseshoe necklace is a pretty thing. Very wearable and perfect for layering if you are looking for that stacked neck-mess coming into the summer months. This stunning deep blue natural sapphire is currently away being certified. Fingers crossed for a un-heated report and that perhaps a more accurate set of gemstone scales will tip the weight into the 2.50ct threshold. What are we going to do with this sapphire? A lively and bright diamond takes centre stage in this unique period engagement ring. Graduated stepped shoulders place this engagement ring firmly in the Art Deco era of jewellery design and manufacture. The central diamond is set using four claws split into a 90 degree angle giving a square mirage to the piece. The upper tiers or the shoulders are set with two square diamonds with a further one in each side in the lower tier. These diamonds are a sort of chequer board cut which feature a small table and a small selection of upper girdle facets. A handmade piece circa 1920 / 1930, significant attention to detail has been paid despite being a fairly simplistic ring. These earrings were originally the bar for an art deco bar brooch. As brooches are no longer really sought after, the main aspect of the brooch being and aquamarine and diamond cluster was converted to a ring. It made an excellent ring and gave the piece a new lease of life as well as creating these fantastic pair of earrings. Old cut diamonds at the base of these earrings in a platinum topped setting. There is a platinum layer along the narrow bar dropping form the articulated fittings. The ear wires are new an crafted in 9ct yellow gold. This is an in-house conversion piece, originally a brooch we have turned this into a very wearable diamond pendant. An excellent show of old cut diamonds in the typical multilayered formation as seen in these highly popular brooches of the Victorian era. As means of keeping all metal with this piece original we made use of the pin for the brooch to make the bale at the back of the pedant to accommodate a chain. Please be careful, sensible and mindful of the environment and weather conditions. This is the first batch of Willows we have hidden for a while so for new followers, here is what it is all about. These coins are one ounce of pure silver. We only had 50 minted and there will never be any more of these particular ones making them possibly one of the smallest batches of silver bullion coins ever created. I hide them, post a video, picture or clue, and then it is game on. Finders keepers. These five are physical treasure hunts but the next ones will be digital meaning you will only have to figure out the clues and I will then send the Willow to you. If you don’t know, Willow is my dog, she features on the coin. Since starting this treasure hunt, I made the decision to change the IG handle to include the term antique jewellery. It is terribly annoying that the Willows have our old handle on but hey ho.
